Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a flame-retardant fiber composed of specific PVA and PVC at a specific ratio, exhibiting excellent abrasion resistance while keeping the advantageous properties such as hydrophilic property and useful for working wear, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective flame-retardant fiber contains PVA and PVC as main constituent polymer components and satisfies all of the following properties. (A) The gel modulus is 40-150 dyne/d, (B) the formalization degree is 10-40% based on the PVA component and (C) the weight ratio of PVA/PVC is 85/15 to 35/65.
