The flame-retardant resin composition comprises a thermoplastic resin (A) and particles (B) obtained by treating the surface of a salt (b') of a basic curing agent and an inorganic acid with a silane coupling agent, where 1 to 200 pts.wt. of the particles (B) is formulated to 100 pts.wt. of the thermoplastic resin (A). The basic curing agent is preferably melamine or polycarbodiimide.
