The end surface of a reinforcing iron 7b is slightly brought into contact with the end surface of a reinforcing iron 7a and positioned after clamping the reinforcing iron 7a with a fixed bracket 3 under the state wherein a movable head part 5 and a pushing/pulling part 4 are connected with the clutch 52 provided in the movable head 5 and then clamped with the movable heads 5. A prescribed electric current is made to flow between the reinforcing irons 7a, 7b from an outside set welding transformer after clamping the reinforcing irons 7a, 7b, the pushing/pulling part 4 and the movable head 5 are advanced with a hydraulic cylinder 24 to join the reinforcing irons 7a, 7b. The movable head 5 and the pushing/pulling part 4 are disconnected with the crutch 52, and burrs generated in the weld zone are removed with the cutting blade edge 412 provided in the pushing/pulling part 4.
