PURPOSE: To provide a flat heat pipe for use in cooling a portable persona computer having a superior cooling capability.
CONSTITUTION: In a flat heat pipe 20 for use in cooling a portable personal computer having a flat sectional shape which is arranged between a heat generating location and a heat radiating location within the portable personal computer in such a way that heat can be given or received between the locations, wick members 28 composed of many ultra-fine wires are arranged in a longitudinal direction within a container 21 composed of flat closed metallic pipes and a cylindrical wound net-like member 50 is arranged in a longitudinal direction. The wick members 28 are pressed against and fixed to the inner wall surface of the container 21 with the net-like member 50.
