To provide a flat knitting machine with a suppression plate for knit stitch which machine can solve the problem that knitting yarn bites into the gap between the suppression plate and the rear side of a comblike plate of a needle bed and a knitting needle.
In the flat knitting machine 1 with the suppression plate 5 for knit stitch, an upper receiving member 8 has a first acting section 26 which forms a bending section 25 near a needle mouth 7 of a needle bed 2 and extends in the normal direction of a needle bed face 10 to contact with the upper end face 16 of the suppression plate 5, and a second acting section 27 which contacts with the rear side 23 of the suppression plate 5. The first acting section 26 and second acting section 27 are constituted to continue through the bending section 25. With this constitution, the suppression plate 5 is limited not to move away to the side of the needle mouth 7 of the needle bed 2 by the first acting section 26 and also is limited not to move away from the rear side 9 of a knitting needle 4 and a comblike plate 3 by the second acting section 27 to narrow the gap 14 formed near the needle mouth 7 preferably and prevent a knitting yarn from biting.
