Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light (≤50 kg/m3 apparent density) and flexible urethane form having excellent damping properties.
SOLUTION: This flexible urethane foam is the one obtained by carrying out the reaction of an activated hydrogen compound with an organic polyisocyanate composition in the presence of a foaming agent, a crosslinking agent, a foam stabilizer, a catalyst and other additives. The activated hydrogen compound is a mixture of (A) a polyether triol having 700-5000 hydroxyl equivalent, and (B) a polyether diol having 1000-6000 hydroxyl equivalent regulated so that the mixing ratio of the components A/B may be (80/20)-(10/90), and the organic polyisocyanate composition is the mixture of (C) a polymethylene polyphenyl isocyanate and (D) 2,4- and/or 2,6-tolylene diisocyanate regulated so that the mixing ratio of the components C/D may be (65/35)-(80/20). The foam also has ≤-15 dB transmission rate of vibration at 500-1000 Hz frequency.
