PURPOSE: To always abut in a satisfactory contact condition even when a pad is abutted to a magnetic head for a long time through a floppy disk by fixing the pad through an elastic body to one surface of the one edge part of an arm, further, holding the pad and fixing it even to other surface of the arm.
CONSTITUTION: Other side edge part of a moving arm 26 to hold a pad 19 at one edge part is supported with a turning supporting point 27 provided on the upper surface part of a device main body 50, an elastic body 29 is fitted to one surface of one edge part of the moving arm 26 and the pad 19 is fixed to an elastic body 29. Further, a part of the pad 19 is folded by the edge part of the moving arm 26 and fixed to other surface of the moving arm 26. Consequently, without depending on the length of the moving arm 26, the depth of the device is determined by the outer diameter of a floppy disk 15. Thus, the device can be miniaturized and the reliability of the recording and reproducing onto the floppy disk 15 can be improved.
