PURPOSE: To enable a clearance in the radial direction to be sealed without causing any necessity for using a counterweight, by equalizing a distance between centers of a crankshaft and an oscillating scroll shaft to the crank radius when the centers of the crankshaft, oscillating scroll shaft and an eccentric ring are arranged on a straight line by this order.
CONSTITUTION: If a compressor is operated, a load is transmitted from an oscillating scroll shaft 4 to an eccentric ring 27, here mainly Fc of centrifugal force in the radial direction and a load Fg of gas compression force in the direction at a right angle with this load Fc are transmitted acting on a center O4 of the shaft 4. When the center O2 of a crankshaft 14, the center O4 of the shaft 4 and the center O5 of the ring 27 are placed on a straight line by this order, a distance O2O4 is substantially equal to a crank radius, consequently contact force (f) between an oscillating scroll 2 and a fixed scroll 1, being in little relation to the force Fc, becomes a function only of the force Fg. While the force Fg, being not changed by a change of rotary speed, is controlled to almost a fixed value. In this way, a clearance in the radial direction between the both scrolls 1, 2 can be sealed by utilizing the force Fg.
