Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a red-luminescent fluorescencer improved in luminance characteristics (luminescence efficiency) without declining in its luminescence color purity.

CONSTITUTION: The objective red-luminescent fluorescencer of the formula Y2O2S:Eu, Gd, RE, W (RE is at least one kind of element selected from among Tb, Pr, Sm and Er) containing (A) 3.0-8.0wt.% of Eu, (B) 5.0×10-4-0.1wt.% of Gd, (C) 5.0×10-4-5.0×10-3wt.% or 5.0×10-4-0.5wt.% of RE when the RE is at least one kind of element selected from among Tb, Pr and Er or when the RE is Sm, respectively, and (D) 1×10-4-0.01wt.% of W, at the weight ratio W/Gd of (1:3) to (1:100).
