To provide a fluorescent display device at low cost with high pixel density and a large display area.
The fluorescent display device is provided with an anode substrate 110 with a luminescent display part 120 having a plurality of anode electrodes 114 coated with phosphors 115 arranged in matrix and a driving circuit controlling light emission of the luminescent display part 120 integrally formed, a cathode arranged opposite to a mounting face of the luminescent display part of the anode substrate 110 and a vacuum envelope incorporating the anode substrate 110 and the cathode 140 of which at least one face has translucency. The anode substrate 110 comprises a glass substrate 111, a polycrystalline silicon film 112 formed on the glass substrate 111, and an insulating film 113 formed on the polycrystalline silicon film 112, and the luminescent display part is formed on the insulating film 113, while the driving circuit is formed on the polycrystalline silicon film 112, and is connected with the anode electrode 114 through a through-hole formed on the insulating film 113.
