To easily switch a normal image observation and a fluorescent image observation in a fluorescent endoscope system.

In the normal image observation, a selector 25 retreats a filter 23 for exciting light from on the optical path of the emitted light of a white light source 21, drives an optical path switching unit 35 to position a roof prism on the optical path of a luminous flux passing through an eyepiece optical system 16, selects only an image signal from a camera CCU 33 for the normal image and outputs it to a TV monitor 40. In the fluorescent image observation the selector 25 positions the filter 23 on the optical path of the emitted light of the light source 21, drives the unit 35 to position an exciting light cut filter on the optical path of the luminous flux passing through the system 16, selects the image signal from a camera CCU 34 for the fluorescent image and outputs it to the monitor 40. By pressing a switch 26, processing by the selector 25 is switched.
