Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of a lighting equipment for a line sensor while improving the illuminance and reducing the power consumption of a light source by surrounding the light source with a cylindrical or flume- shaped photoconductive member which has a light emission hole and contains a fluorescent material. CONSTITUTION:The photoconductive member 11 is made of polycarbonate containing a fluorescent material and has the light emission hole 2 and the member is a hollow cylinder, wherein a long arc type xenon lamp 3 is arranged. A reflecting member is provided to the external surface 11 of the photoconductive member 1 except on the internal surface 12 facing the light source 3 and at the light emission hole 2, and a wavelength-selective coating layer which transmits excited light from the fluorescent material and reflects fluorescent light is provided on the internal surface 12 facing the light source 3. Consequently, fluorescent light is emitted by the fluorescent material with the exciting light emitted by the light source 3 and the fluorescent light while reflected irregularly in the photoconductive member 1 gather at the light emission hole 2, so the light emission hole 2 illuminates very intensely in a slit or slot shape.
