Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a hydrophilic polymer fine porous membrane excellent in ozone resistance for treating a water containing ozone.
CONSTITUTION: A membrane composed of a fluorine based polymer containing hydrogen atom whose typical example is polyvinylidenefluoride is treated by ozone to give the membrane hydrophilicity and the membrane thus obtained exhibits excellent ozone resistance. The membrane is made effectively hydrophilic by alkali treating jointly with this ozone treating.
