To fit a modular jack to a wall surface so as to be in parallel and flush with the wall surface by providing an adapter with a plug cord housing part at a position corresponding to an opening of a plate.
A first adapter 10 is formed of a body and a cover, and houses a modular jack so as to pinch it from a lever side and a plug connecting part side. A second adapter 50 is formed with a housing part 52 at a position corresponding to an opening 71 of a plate 70. The housing part 52 is formed into a box-shape, of which front surface is opened, and a modular plug and a plug cable, which is connected to the modular plug, are connected to the modular jack so as to form a space for housing. Furthermore, in the second adapter 50, two standing pieces 54, 54 are erected on a top surface 53. The standing pieces 54, 54 are formed with grooves 55...55 to be engaged with engaging projections 34...34, which are formed in the cover of the first adapter 10. Each four projections 51...51 to be engaged with the groove 41, 41 of the fitting frame 40 are provided in both outside of the second adapter 50.
