To provide an FM receiver capable of exactly receiving the VICS information in all the prefectures of Japan.

This FM multiplex receiver is provided with a navigation unit 20 having a list 22 of FM multiplex broadcasting stations providing the VICS information classified for each area, and a list 23 of FM multiplex broadcasting stations providing general information; and an FM multiplex receiver for tuning in to an FM multiplex broadcasting station having a frequency of the highest reception field intensity among the frequencies in the list 22 of FM multiplex broadcasting stations providing the VICS information of the area corresponding to a present position. In this receiver, if an FM multiplex broadcasting station having the same frequency as that of the tuned FM multiplex broadcasting station can be found in the list 23 of FM multiplex broadcasting stations providing general information of the area corresponding to the present position and the VICS information cannot be received, it is decided that the tuned FM multiplex broadcasting station is not an FM multiplex broadcasting station providing the VICS information.
