To provide a bench which does not obstruct pedestrians when not in use through the use of a protective fence beside a side walk.

A back plate 2 is approximately vertically and installation-freely fixed to a protective fence 1. A seat plate 5 is rotatably hinged to the lower end of the back plate 2. The seat plate 5 is rotated upward by a coil spring 6 and normally folded on the back plate 2. When the seat plate 5 is rotated downward by a human force, the lower end of the back plate 2 comes into contact with a seat plate protruded part 5b and the seat plate 5 is halted in an approximately horizontal state and can be seated. As the seat plate 5 is automatically rotated upward when a person leaves the seat plate 5, the seat plate 5 does not obstruct pedestrians as it is not left unfolded.
