Chilled air having a temperature lower than the freezing temperature of a food is supplied in circulated state to a heating chamber holding the frozen food to be heated with microwave radiation. The air flow rate of the chilled air is increased during the period having a temperature near the freezing temperature of the food to cool the surface layer of the food subjected to concentrated heating and scatter and remove molten water having increased microwave absorption to suppress the partial overheating of the food.
