PURPOSE: To provide a footstep cleaning device for a passenger conveyor by which ambient air is prevented from being polluted by dust removed from a footstep.

CONSTITUTION: A footstep cleaning device for a passenger conveyor is operated to effect cleaning of the treads 2a of footsteps 2 intercoupled in an endless state between a ride-in landing and a ride-out landing, the footstep cleaning device being provided with an injecting device 10 operated to inject air against the tread 2a the upside of which is down; and a dust collecting device 11 to suck dust blown out by means of air are arranged in the vicinity of the tread turning-over part 3 of the ride-out landing 1. This constitution causes prevention of exercising an adverse influence by adhesion and entrance of dust to peripheral devices and sharp reduction of a cleaning work.
