Abstract:
A force-feedback input device includes a rotatable operating member (2,21); a motor (3) which is capable of applying torque to the operating member (2,21); a rotary encoder (4) for detecting the rotational angle of the operating member (2,21); and a controller (12) for controlling the motor (3) based on the detected rotational angle. The operating member (2) is tubular and is housed in a housing (1) such that the periphery of the operating member (2) is partially uncovered and exposed through an opening provided in the operating surface of the housing (1). An output shaft of the motor (3) is concentrically fixed to operating member (2), and the main body of the motor (3) is disposed in the tubular operating member (2).
