Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve quality by forming an electrode film on either surface of the piezoelectric body of a piezoelectric vibrator which makes thickness slide vibrations, by providing a continuous and narrow gap part after removing this film by cutting, and by clearly forming two driving electrodes at a contour part.

CONSTITUTION: On crystal piece 1, mask 5 with perforated hole 6 containing driving electrodes 2a and 2b, and lead-out electrodes 3a and 3b is stacked and electrode film 2 is formed by vapor deposition. Next, this electrode film 2 is divided into two to form driving electrodes 2a and 2b. To form those driving electrodes 2a and 2b, part of electrode film 2 is removed by a laser beam emitter from laser unit 7, and continuous and narrow gap part 4 is formed to divide electrode film 2 into two, so that the electrodes of a piezoelectric vibrator will be formed which makes thickness slide vibrations.
