Title:
FREELY EXPANDABLE SHIFT LEVER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62281021
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to select the length of a lever by choice of a user, by enabling the user to operate a shortened lever similarly as a normally expanded lever. CONSTITUTION:By raising a lever 31, the hook 33 of a plate 32 is moved to an inner side in a radius direction lifting along a tapered surface 29, and the engagement with the second shaft 4 is released. Next, the first shaft 3 is turned against the second shaft rotating a shift knob 2, and the projection 12 of the first shaft 3 is positioned at the longitudinal part of a slit 10 on an inner shaft 6, and the shift knob 2 is pressed down against the pressing force of a spring 13. After completing the above state, by rotating the first shaft 3 again in its original direction, and engaging the projection 12 with a laterals part underneath the slit 10, the motion of the first shaft 3 in an upward direction can be blocked. Thus, the shift lever can be shortened.
