Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a friction material reducing offensive properties of friction material to disc rotor, preventing brake noise of low frequency by dividedly constituting end part zones and a central zone having different compositions, respectively, along direction of rotation of disc.

CONSTITUTION: End part zones and a central zone are dividedly constituted along direction of rotation of disk, the end part zones have the same or lower abradant content at least on the sliding surface layer thereof than the central zone, the end part zones contain two or more kinds of inorganic compounds having a lamellar crystal structure such as mica, talc, vermiculite or kaolin except graphite and molybdenum disulfide and hydroxide of Al, Mg and Fe as fillers and the central zone does not contain the fillers and contains one filler.
