To provide a friction stirring joining method without deforming in friction stirring joining for a cylindrical part of a hollow structural angle or the like.
Face plates 11b and 12b of a hollow structural angle 10 and face plates 21b and 22b of a hollow structural angle 20 are butt-joined. A recess 16 is provided on the end face of the face plates 11b and 12b, and a projection 26 which fits in the recess is provided on the end face of the face plates 21b and 22b. Projections 15 and 25 are provided on the outside of the face plates 11b, 12b, 21b and 22b. In a rotary tool 50, a small diameter part 51 is provided in between large diameter parts 53 and 54. A screw is provided on the outer face of the small diameter part 51. A part to be joined is sandwiched in between the two large diameter parts 53 and 54, and brought into the friction stirring joining. Accordingly, since force toward the center part of the hollow structural angles 10 and 20 is not applied thereon, the structural angles 10 and 20 can be brought into the friction stirring joining without deforming.
