Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11198854
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To absorb energy effectively by dispersing the impact load at the time of offset collision.
A front cross-member 11 installed stretching in the direction across the car width at the front edge of the car is divided about approx. at the center into two halves so that a left 11a and a right cross-member 11b are formed. In the central coupling part of the two cross-members 11b and 11a, a compass mechanism part 13 is furnished to restrict symmetrically the rotational movement round the mentioned central part between the cross- members 11a and 11b.
