To provide a fuel cell system preventing control errors even when a temperature sensor fails.
A fuel cell system judges that the temperature sensor inside a tank is defective when a time from IG-OFF(S101) to IG-ON(S104, Yes) is judged to be a prescribed time Tm or more (S106, No), an amount of hydrogen in a hydrogen tank at power generation stop is judged not to be varied (S109, Yes) or a difference between outside temperature T3 and temperature inside tank T2 is judged to be a prescribed value or smaller (S110, No). Furthermore, when the time from IG-OFF(S101) to IG-ON(S104, Yes) is judged not to be the prescribed time Tm or more (S106, No), the amount of hydrogen in the hydrogen tank is judged to be varied (S109, No), or the difference between the outside temperature T3 and the temperature inside the tank T2 is judged not to be the prescribed value or smaller (S110, Yes), judgement is made not to carry out failure judgement for the temperature sensor inside the tank (S113).
