Title:
FUEL INJECTION EQUIPMENT FOR INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59131731
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To achieve proper atomization of fuel, by opening and closing a fuel injection valve by means of an electrostrictive actuator to operate in response to high-frequency waves, and reducing the quantity of fuel injected per one time from the injection valve.

CONSTITUTION: An injection valve 1 is operated through expansion and contraction of an electrostrictive actuator 11. Expansion and contraction of the electrostrictive actuator 11 is transmitted directly to a positive piston 14. A fuel sump 136 is communicated with a pressure regulator 54 disposed on the outside via an inlet port 135 formed at a closed end portion of a valve casing 13. Metering of fuel is achieved by controlling the frequency or the like of a signal applied to the electrostrictive actuator 11 which is responsive to high-frequency waves. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to achieve proper atomization of fuel.
