Title:
FUEL REFORMING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002338207
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a fuel reforming apparatus suitable for the loading on a movable object and having a simple structure.

A flow passage 17 having a combustion catalyst 12 for combusting hydrocarbon fuel and a flow passage 18 provided with a reforming catalyst 15 are formed adjacently so that respective gas flows flow to form a counter flow. The hydrocarbon fuel is supplied to a turning back part 13 for connecting each flow passage by an injector 14. The steam reforming reaction is performed using a product such as carbon dioxide contained in a waste gas from the reforming catalyst 15 as an oxidizing agent. A reforming process, by which the generation of soot is suppressed without introducing water from the outside, is realized by separating the partial oxidation reaction into 2 processes of the complete combustion and the steam reforming reaction, which hardly generate soot. The energy efficiency is also improved because the reformed gas is produced through the steam reforming reaction, which is an endothermic reaction, in this way to suppress the temperature of the production gas to be kept low.
