Title:
FUEL SPACER AND FUEL ASSEMBLY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08122474
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a fuel spacer and a fuel assembly that can efficiently apply liquid drops to fuel rods, many of which exist beside the inner face of a channel box, has a simple structure and can contribute greatly to the improvement of the limit output.

CONSTITUTION: This fuel spacer has a supporting band 11 formed like a square frame to support a bundle of fuel rods 3 from the direction of the outer circumference and a fuel holding part 16 placed in connection with the inside of the supporting band 11 to hold each of the fuel rods 3 arranged in a lattice at some intervals. In a channel box whose section is square, coolant passages are longitudinally formed between the channel box and the fuel rods and between fuel rods. An inclining flow tub 12 for turning the coolant flow toward the fuel rods 3 is placed at the edge at least on the downstream side of the coolant flow in a supporting band 11. A section has a shape equipped with an edge 17 for controlling the inflow from the direction intersecting that of the coolant flow to a face 12a on the downstream side of the coolant flow in the flow tub 12.
