Abstract:
PURPOSE: To store fuel in a reserve tank while maintaining specified fuel pressure during run.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel tank 1 is constituted of a main tank 2 and a reserve tank 3, and a fuel pump 4 provided on the main tank 2 is connected to a carburator 6 by a fuel pipe 5. The reserve tank 3 is positioned in a space above the carburator 6, and connected thereto via a fuel cock 7. A regulator valve 8 installed inside the reserve tank 3 is connected to the fuel pipe 5. Fuel is pressure-fed to the carburator 6 under specified fuel pressure by the fuel pump 4 via the fuel pipe 5 in the case of a normal condition, and simultaneosly a regulator valve 8 is opened when the fuel pressure increases beyond its specified level and partial fuel is led inside the reserve tank 3 so that fuel may be automatically stored therein.
