Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve machining efficiency, by a method wherein two workpiece shafts are simultaneously raised, works are simultaneously attached to and detached from the two shafts, and the grasping parts of robot hands are adapted to simultaneously grasp the two works.

CONSTITUTION: Two workpiece shafts 12a and 12b are simultaneously elevated through a workpiece shaft casing by means of a hydraulic cylinder 14 for elevation. The workpiece shaft is inserted in chucking, and by lifting upward the chucking, a workpiece is fastened through taper engagement. By introducing pressurized fluid to the piston sides of cylinders 29a and 29b for unchucking, the workpiece is released from the chucking. Since the grasping parts of robot hands 3a and 3b are adapted to simultaneously grasp the two workpieces, one swing of the robot hands 3a and 3b will suffice for replacement of the workpiece, resulting in the possibility to reduce an attaching and detaching time. This constitution produces an effect in that machining efficiency is improved.
