Abstract:

To improve the utilization efficiency of light source luminous fluxes and to execute fundus photography with the small-capacity light sources.

The light source 1 for photography consisting of a rod-shaped stroboscopic tube is disposed in the outer position of an optical axis O1 by directing the tube axis to a direction perpendicular to the plane of figure and a concave mirror 2 is arranged behind the light source 1 for photography so as to form the light source image 1' thereof in a position symmetrical with the optical axis O1. The light source 11 for observation of a halogen lamp consisting of a rectangular filament of which the longitudinal direction is directed toward the direction perpendicular to the plane of figure is disposed on the outer side of the optical axis O2. A concave mirror 12 is arranged in such a manner that the light source image 11' is formed in a position symmetrical with the optical axis O2. The concave mirrors 1 and 12 are arranged to be offcentered in such a manner that the reflected light of the light sources 1 and 11 effectively enters the inside of an illumination optical system. The concave mirrors and the light sources are arranged in the manner described above, by which the superposition of the light source images 1' and 11' on the original light sources 1 and 11 is averted and, therefore, there is no absorption and the same luminance as the luminance of the light sources 1 and 11 may be respectively assured.
