Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the error of hole detection by calculating true 'hole infor mation likelihood' in accordance with 'hole likelihood' and 'hole position likelihood' by fuzzy inference.
CONSTITUTION: A present position calculating part 22 calculates a pulse period Tpls in accordance with the signal of rise Tk of the pulse from a second rise memory part 21 in the preceding stage. A first fuzzy control part 24 substitutes the value of the pulse period Tpls into a membership function to derive the degree of 'hole likelihood' and substitutes the value of a variable C into the membership function to derive the degree of 'hole position likelihood' and executes the fuzzy inference of minimum operation, fuzzy OR, and fuzzy AND by degrees of 'hole likelihood' and 'hole position likelihood', namely, the grade to calculate the true 'hole information likelihood'. The value of this 'hole information likelihood' is compared with a set threshold, and a second hole discrimination signal which discriminates 'hole' is outputted when this value exceeds the threshold.
