Abstract:
PURPOSE:To assure the flexibility to the time response of the fuzzy control by providing a means which performs a fuzzy control based on an ambiguous expression related to the time and obtains the delay time value and a delay means which gives a time delay element to a manipulated variable in response to the delay time value. CONSTITUTION:A normal fuzzy inference is performed or the inferences are performed for each rule in regard of the delay time based on the fuzzy control rules (1) and (2) including the ambiguous time description. Thus a time delay element is given to a manipulated variable. When an inter-car distance is controlled, for example, the rules (1) and (2) are produced together with the time description. Then the 'immediate' application of the brakes is needed with a high running speed of a car and a small inter-car distance. However the sudden application of the brakes is dangerous and therefore the applying degree of the brakes is controlled by the membership function set to the degree of 'immediate' state. Thus the freedom degree is improved for control of the responsiveness of a control system with use of the rules (1) and (2) including the time description and a delay control means 6.
