In a device body part 20 around which an endless annular lifting belt 25 circulates, one end side of a guide frame 52 supporting a polishing cloth belt 58 and a guide rail 51 is installed in a door form by means of a hinge 27, while the other end side is locked to a standing frame 22 by means of a locking mechanism 70. Under this condition, the locking mechanism 70 pulls the guide frame 52 to the device body 20 side by means of a spring. A clearance adjusting mechanism 80 is provided with a nut-shaped grip part 82 held in a supporting frame 81 freely rotationally and a bolt-shaped shaft part 83 protruding/retracting according to the rotation of the grip part 82. When the guide frame 52 is closed and locked, the tip of the shaft part 83 abuts to the guide frame 52 without respect to its projection amount, and the dimension of a clearance between the guide frame 52 and the standing frame 22 determining clamping strength is adjusted by means of the grip part 82 independently of the operation of the locking mechanism 70.
