PURPOSE: To obtain a γ-aminoether compound useful as a complexing agent for a solvent or a metal ion and an additive for improving the stereoregularity of a poly-α-olefin synthesized in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst for polymerization of an α-olefin.

CONSTITUTION: A γ-aminoether compound having an ether group and an amino group and represented by the formula R1R2C(R3R4-NR5R6)(CR7R8-OR9) (R1 is a 1 to 20C straight- or branched-chain alkyl, group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, an alkylaryl group or an arylalkyl group. R2 to R8 each is independently H, a 1 to 20C straight- or branched-chain alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, an alkylarly group or an arylalkyl group. Two or more of R2, R3, R4, R7 and R8 may be mutually bonded to form a cyclic structure except an aromatic ring. R9 is a 1 to 10C straight or branched-chain alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group or an alkylarly group).
