PURPOSE: To measure a gap between a rotary body and a casing precisely by forming a T-shaped probe to be slidably contacted with the inner periphery of a member on the casing side and a converter for converting the mechanical displacement of the T-shaped probe into an electrical signal.
CONSTITUTION: The T-shaped probe 11 projected from an electronic micrometer 10 is slidably contacted with the inner peripheral edge of a seal fin 5. At that time, zero point adjustment of the micrometer 10 is executed. When the shaft 23 of a turbine is rotated, a pulse signal corresponding to the turning angle is outputted from a pulse oscillator 22 to a pulse counter 20. Every counting of the previously fixed number of pulses, the counter 20 outputs a measuring timing pulse to a signal processor 7. The processor 7 receives a moving distance of the probe 11 from the outer periphery of a shroud 6 through the micrometer 10. The device 7 A/D converts the inputted signal and outputs the digital signal to a recorder 21.
