To provide a garbage treating machine capable of preventing garbage from scorching and undrying by shortening drying time of the garbage treating machine and surely deciding completion of drying of garbage.
After start of drying operation, the temperature of a direct-heating means installed at a drying-furnace bottom-part is controlled at a first control temperature and then controlled at a second control temperature lower than the first control temperature when the amount of a water content of garbage is decreased by progressing drying operation. When a temperature detecting means at the furnace bottom part installed in the vicinity of the drying-furnace bottom-part detects a predetermined temperature higher than the second control temperature, the temperature detecting means at the furnace bottom part can detect the temperature of the garbage at the drying-furnace bottom-part without suffering the heat affection from the direct-heating means by finishing of drying operation, and surely detect the drying completion of the garbage.
