Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cell with which, when irradiating a container having alkali metal contained therein with a laser beam and destroying the container, it is possible to stably hold the container.SOLUTION: The gas cell comprises a first chamber and a second chamber communicating with the first chamber through a communication hole, with gaseous alkali metal contained in the first chamber, an organic film formed on the inner wall of the first chamber, a first container and a second container accommodated in the second chamber. A width W of the second chamber is in the range of n×A+m×B≤W≤n×A+m×B+C/2, where A represents the width of the first container, n represents the number of first containers arrayed in the width direction of the second chamber (n is a natural number), B represents the width of the second container, m represents the number of second containers arrayed in the width direction of the second chamber (m is a natural number), and C represents the size in width direction of an internal space of the second container.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
