The polluted air is cracked by a photocatalyst reaction on the front surface of the gas purifying and sound absorbing member 10. The polluted air past the gas purifying and sound absorbing member 10 is cracked by the light of the light 4 on the rear surface as well. The nitric acid adhered to the gas purifying and sound absorbing member 10 is washed away by the showers 22a, 22b.
