Abstract:

To obtain a gasket for electromagnetic wave shield which can follow up variation of shape easily while preventing electromagnetic wave from entering by an arrangement wherein the gasket can be pasted to a required part of the housing of various apparatus to be shielded through an adhesive applied to the arbitrary surface of the gasket.

The gasket comprises a conductive porous body, i.e., a continuously foamed elastic resin body 12, an adhesive 20 applied thereon in a specified pattern, and a metal plating layer 14 formed on the inner and outer surfaces of the elastic resin body. The metal plating layer 14 causes no damage on the flexibility of the porous body and the gasket 10 for electromagnetic wave shield obtained by applying the adhesive 20 also has flexibility substantially equivalent to that of an elastic porous body composing the elastic resin body 12. Assuming the desired width and length of the gasket being employed in an object are W and L, the adhesive is applied with width w (W>w) in the vicinity of the central part across the width W over the entire length L.
