Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the engine brake operation when a vehicle is in steep deceleration and prevent degradation of the accelerative responsiveness at the time of engine stall, knocking, and re-acceleration.
SOLUTION: A vehicle is equipped with a hydro-mechanical transmission(HMT) where a mechanical type transmission(MT) is interposed between the input shaft and output shaft and a hydrostatic transmission(HST) is parallel installed, wherein further a controller is furnished to make change control of the gear ratio of the HMT through the operational control of each clutching mechanism of the MT and the incremental/decremental change control of the swash plate angle of a hydraulic pump of the HST. When a steep deceleration judging part judges that the vehicle is in a steep decelerating condition (S4, 6, 7), the variable swash plate of the hydraulic pump is fixed to the neutral position (S5), and the clutching mechanisms of the MT are put in changeover operation so that the gear ratio of the HMT lessens (S8, 9), and the gear ratio of the HMT is quickly changed in discontinuity.
