To provide a general route guide apparatus which collectively performs route guidance for a case where its user moves using a public traffic means such as an electric railcar, a bus, or the like, and route guidance for a case where the user moves using a private vehicle.
When a place of departure and a place of destination are inputted from an input portion 1, a road map information obtaining portion 2 obtains road map information from a road map information storage 13, and a line information obtaining portion 3 obtains line information from a line information storage 14, respectively. They are given to a moving route forming portion 4. The forming portion 4 forms moving routes from the place of departure up to the destination concerning both cases where the user moves using a public traffic means and the user moves using the private vehicle, respectively, on the basis of the road map information and the line information, and displays them on a display portion 12.
