To provide a glass chopped strand mat which can ensure rigidity, after processed into a GFRP molded article, can prevent the damage of the mat, when pulled out from a mat roll, and can correspond to environmental problems, after used as a structural member, to provide a method for producing the mat, and to provide an automotive molded ceiling material using the mat.
This glass chopped strand mat 1 obtained by binding chopped strands accumulated into a sheet-like shape with a binder, contains a thermoplastic modified phenolic resin containing a sugar derivative derived from a plant in an amount of 20 to 40 mass%. The method for producing the glass chopped strand mat includes an accumulation step of accumulating chopped strands to form a sheet-like article, a spraying step of spraying a binder on the sheet-like article, and a solidifying step of thermally melting the binder and then solidifying the binder to bind the chopped strands of the sheet-like accumulation product. The automotive molded ceiling material has the glass chopped strand mat 1 stuck to at least one side of a foamed resin sheet.
