To provide a glass fiber for reinforcing rubber, which can impart excellent durability to water and heat resistance to a transmission belt when it is buried in heat-resistant rubber and used as the transmission belt; and to provide the transmission belt using the same.
When the transmission belt is manufactured, the glass fiber for reinforcing rubber is buried in a base rubber and used. In the glass fiber for reinforcing rubber, a primary coating layer containing a chlorophenol-formaldehyde condensate, a vinylpyridine-styrene-butadiene copolymer, and a chlorosulfonated polyethylene is formed on a glass fiber cord obtained by bundling a plurality of glass fiber filaments and a secondary coating layer containing a chlorosulfonated polyethylene and a maleimide is formed on the primary coating layer.
