Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a decorative member having superior corrosion and wear resistances and a fine gold color tone, by forming a coated layer consisting of Ti and Au or an Au alloy on a substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A coated Ti layer is formed on a substrate with an ionic plating apparatus or the like. A coated Au layer is formed on the coated Ti layer with the same apparatus to obtain a golden coated layer made of a mixed layer consisting of Ti and Au or made of an alloy prepared by the mutual diffusion of Ti and Au. The resulting coated layer has superior corrosion and wear resistances and a fine gold color tone.
