Title:
GOLF CLUB HEAD PROVIDED WITH VISUAL INDICATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09173508
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To help the player avoid errors in correctly positioning the head of a golf club by providing the head with visual indicators that the player will utilize for setting grooves in the head at right angles with the intended line of target. SOLUTION: Eight grooves 48, and six grooves 50 are formed in a front face 22 of the head of a golf club. They are located between a heel edge 16 and a toe edge 18 of a main body 12, and are oriented to run in a direction along a sole 30. The grooves 48 are equal in length but the grooves 50 are different in length. Two very short grooves 52 are formed, respectively, at locations beyond the ends of a groove 48a, and are to function as visual indicators. The player places the club head at the address position in the rear of a golf ball, and utilizes the visual indicators, that is, the very short grooves 52, so that the grooves 48 and 50 will be crossing the line of the intended target vertically or at right angles.
