This golf club 2 is provided with a golf club head 8 having a shaft mount part 12, a shaft 4 mounted on the shaft mount part 12, and a ferrule 10 provided adjacent to the shaft mount part 12. The ferrule 10 has a recess part 24 opened to the outside. The depth F of the recess part 24 is defined as 2 mm or more. Preferably, the recess part 24 is opened toward the side of the golf club head 8. The recess part may be formed of the ferrule and the shaft. Preferably, the ferrule 10 has the recess part 24 provided across the whole circumference in the circumferential direction, and an outer circumference part 18 provided radially outward the recess part 24 and constituting a part of the wall face of the recess part. Preferably, the thickness of the circumference part 18 is 0.5 mm or more.
