Abstract:

To provide a gravure printing machine which can control tension between printing units free from a control action failure without interference with registration control between the printing units, and a tension control method of the gravure printing machine.

This gravure printing machine comprises the following components: a tension detection means which detects the tension of a web between two adjacent printing units and outputs a tension detection value, a tension control means which outputs a tension control signal by performing a control operation to reduce a deviation between the tension detection value and a target tension value, a drive control means which outputs an impression cylinder drive signal to each printing unit by inputting the tension control signal, and an impression cylinder drive means which drives the impression cylinder of each printing unit at a specified rotary speed according to the impression cylinder drive signal.
