This portable type grinder comprises a self-travelling carriage 2 running on a work 1; a carriage fixing mechanism for fixing or making movable the carriage 2 to the work 1; a first frame 26 attached to the carriage 2 through a horizontal position regulating mechanism 10 forming an approximate right angle with the work and a vertical position regulating mechanism 15 and the work; a second frame 27 approaching/separating from the fillet welding portion 1c by a cutting mechanism having a driving device; a grinder body 9 attached to the second frame 27; and a control board 8 for controlling operations of a running motor 6 for the carriage 2, the driving device of the cutting mechanism and the driving device of the grinder body.
