Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent generation of a stripy stepped gap in a workpiece because of a flange part in a grinding wheel even when the workpiece bites a grinding wheel side in the terminal end part of traverse grinding by a spring back.
CONSTITUTION: An outer circumference grinding face in a grinding wheel 16 consists of a finishing grinding straight part 43, which is parallel to an axis line of rotation of a workpiece, and a rough grinding taper part 42, which is adjacent to the straight part 43 and inclined to the axis line of rotation of the workpiece, and in the end part of the straight part, 43 on the opposite side to the taper part 42, a tapered recess part with an inclination angle of 1 degree or less is formed.
